Terms of service
Last updated: 8 November 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and appTown ("appTown", "we", "us") for using the appTown website, web app, mobile app and API (the "service"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you use appTown for an organisation, you agree on its behalf and confirm you are allowed to.
1. Your account
You must be at least 16 and give accurate sign-in details. You are responsible for what happens under your account and your API keys: keep them safe and tell us straight away if you think someone else has access. API keys act as you, with your access.
2. Your content
You own what you create. The apps you build, the data in them and the files you upload ("your content") belong to you or to the people who gave them to you.
You give us a limited permission to host, copy, process and show your content only as needed to run the service for you and the people you share with (for example storing it, showing it in views, running automations, sending it to an AI provider when you ask for AI help, and keeping backups). This permission ends when your content is deleted, except for copies in backups until they expire.
You are responsible for your content and for having the right to use it, including any personal information about other people that you collect in your apps. If you build an app that collects other people's personal information, you are its controller and must follow the privacy laws that apply to you; we process it on your behalf as described in our Privacy policy.
3. Sharing apps
An app belongs to its owner, who decides who it is shared with and what they can see and do. If you use an app someone else owns, the owner can see and manage the data you add to it, and can remove your access.
4. Acceptable use
Don't use appTown to:
- break the law or help others break it;
- store or send content that is illegal, infringes someone's rights, or is abusive, hateful, sexually exploitative or harassing;
- send spam or unsolicited messages through email, SMS or other automation steps;
- collect other people's data without the notice and consent the law requires;
- distribute malware, or phish for passwords or payment details;
- probe, overload or break the service, get around limits or security, or access data that isn't yours;
- resell or white-label the service without our written agreement.
We may remove content or suspend an app or account that breaks these rules. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.
5. AI features
AI features are optional; everything they do can also be done by hand. AI output can be wrong. Check it before relying on it, especially for anything important. AI requests use the credits included in your plan.
6. Plans, payment and cancellation
appTown has a Free plan and paid plans. Each plan's limits (such as the number of apps and AI credits) are shown in Settings → Plan and may change; we will tell you before a change reduces what you pay for.
Paid plans are billed in advance through Stripe and renew automatically each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time; the plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Payments are not refundable except where the law requires, or where we decide to refund at our discretion. Prices exclude taxes unless shown otherwise.
If a paid plan ends or a payment fails, your account goes back to the Free plan. Nothing you built is deleted; some features may be limited until you upgrade again.
7. Payments in your apps
If you connect your own Stripe account to an app, payments go directly between you, your customers and Stripe, under Stripe's terms. appTown is not a party to those payments and is not responsible for them, including refunds, chargebacks and taxes.
8. Third-party services
Apps can connect to other services (such as Google, Slack, Stripe or any webhook). Your use of them is governed by their terms, and we are not responsible for them.
9. Availability and changes
We work hard to keep appTown running and your data safe, but the service is provided "as is" and "as available": we don't promise it will always be available, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. We may change, add or remove features. If we stop offering the service, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export your data.
10. Ending this agreement
You can stop using appTown and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or where the law requires. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as ownership, liability and disputes) continue after the agreement ends.
11. Liability
To the extent the law allows, appTown is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue or data, and our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and 100 US dollars.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under the law where you live.
12. Indemnity
If you use appTown for a business, you agree to cover our reasonable costs from claims by others that arise from your content or from your breach of these terms.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email or in appTown at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you keep using the service after that, you accept the new terms; if you don't agree, you can stop using it and cancel.
14. General
These terms, with our Privacy policy and Cookies page, are the whole agreement between you and us about the service. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a right is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer these terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a merger or sale of the business.
